All The Gold You Can Hold series-
Found materials are the primary impetus of my work. They are chosen in support of my ongoing interest in the reflection of light on or through objects.
The compositions come from a linear style that I have used repeatedly through the years and is made up of recycled materials that come into my life.
I find the beauty and energy of gold to be transporting and nurturing, expanding my mood and soul at the same time. It is a joy to be working with gold especially as a recycled material.
Levity & Gravity series-
I seek a quiescent landscape through the repetition of working within a linear structure that is procured by a contemplative and introspective process similar to meditation. Each added stripe is a disciplined play of paint and gravity. The paintings possess an ethereal quality that is informed by my core beliefs. These beliefs are infused with the natural and spiritual elements of the world around me.
Moonlit series-
Each piece in this series consists of three sections, mounted on clear twinwall polycarbonate with a smaller piece on the top layer encasing the natural materials. The materials are as follows: 9″ x 39″ acrylic painting on corrugated paper and board, 24″x 24″ acrylic painting on sheer airplane fabric, natural materials; lunaria annua, quercus galls, magnolia leaf skeletons.
